The person behind the work.
ABOUT
13 years. Dozens of brands. One thing that never changes.
WHO I AM
I've worked with enough startups to know what actually matters to the person holding the brief.
I've worked with enough startups to know what actually matters to the person holding the brief.
It's not the logo. It's not the award. It's not whether the creative director thinks it's beautiful. It's whether it worked — and whether the person who approved the budget still has their job.
That sounds blunt. It's meant to. Because the companies I work with don't have room for beautiful work that doesn't move anything. They need content that answers the question their CEO is already asking.
That's what I build.
HOW I THINK
The startup content puzzle genuinely fascinates me.
“Twelve videos. Every dollar of Q1 budget. All of it gone — and nothing moved. I’ve watched that happen. It’s not a production problem. It’s a strategy problem that never got solved before the camera turned on.”
My philosophy is closer to investing than production. If you don't know what works — don't spend everything. Test first. Find what lands. Then scale it fast and hard once you know.
Most companies come in overwhelmed. Audience, platforms, messaging, budget — it all hits at once and none of it feels manageable. I find that puzzle interesting rather than intimidating. Maybe because I know how to tell stories. Maybe because I've seen what happens when you don't solve it first.

why it matters
The thing I've learned after 13 years
The work is never really about the work.
It's about the person holding the brief. I want them to look good to their boss. I want them to get the promotion. I want them to have something to point to when it's time to move on to the next thing.
I learned this at Fitbit — figuring out what people actually needed. Not what they asked for. What would make their job easier, their results stronger, and their life a little less stressful.
That's still how I approach every engagement.
And working together should be fun. Not tolerable. Not professional. Actually fun. Life's too short for projects that aren't worth showing up for.
WHAT CLIENTS SAY
“ Richie took our cost per acquisition down to $0.12 on a $300 product. I rehired him at Koah and we've already seen results from the first four videos — with plans to do more.
